In a world where our law enforcement working dogs face unimaginable dangers every single day, we are incredibly grateful to share a story of pure resilience, bravery, and survival. 
Meet K9 Officer Appie—a loyal protector who recently stared danger down in the line of duty. While bravely tracking a burglary suspect, Appie was shot. The impact of the bullet was devastating, breaking his humerus bone and instantly putting this beautiful hero’s life on the line.
But Appie is a fighter. 
He was rushed into emergency medical care, where an incredible team of veterinarians and specialists worked tirelessly to stabilize him and treat his severe injuries. Thanks to their expert hands, his handler’s unwavering presence, and Appie’s own indomitable spirit, he survived. 
The road to full recovery will be long and challenging, requiring extensive veterinary care, physical therapy, and plenty of rest. But this brave boy has already proven that his heart is as tough as they come.
The bond between a K9 and their handler is forged in trust and absolute loyalty. Appie went to work to protect his team, and today, we stand together to honor his bravery and wish him a smooth, peaceful healing journey.
