During a perilous clash early Sunday morning, the brave K-9 was shot while in the line of duty. Department photos highlight the physical toll of his bravery, showing Rex with a prominently shaved patch on his side where veterinarians treated the bullet wound.
Despite his severe injuries, Rex has shown incredible toughness. The department officially confirmed, “K-9 Rex is now home and recovering,” signaling a positive shift in a situation that easily could have ended in tragedy. He is currently resting with his handler’s family as he begins his long rehabilitation journey.
